Author Signing: April White In-Person

April White is an off-road 4x4 Jeep shotgun wife, cheerleader to two teenagers, and a pharmacist. Until five years ago, the only thing missing from April's idyllic life was a white picket fence and a deer-proof garden. However, in 2015, a rare illness, Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis, threatened to derail April's sense of worth, security, and identity. As a chronic illness warrior, April draws strength daily with Jesus, coffee, and afternoon naps. While a rare illness hijacked her body, she refuses it to steal her hope. God is using April's chronic battle as a platform to write and speak of God's chronic presence.

About the Book
This book is not a self-help book filed with platitudes from people who think they have life figured out, but an author-driven guide for those who are suffering. Authors Marilyn Nutter and April White link arms with the audience and encourage their readers through stories of their own hardships in widowhood and chronic illness. Readers are encouraged to see loss and hardship as part of life's journey and are constantly reminded to turn their gaze upwards, to the Purveyor of Hope. "Trials and detours are an invitation to a front row seat to God's faithfulness." Within the pages of Destination Hope comes a sisterhood, a bond, that can be formed only through the mutual understanding of loss and the need to find hope among hardships. "The bonds of friendship forged during suffering can withstand the heat. God sets aside the purest friendship for great trials and suffering."
Destination Hope is arranged into six chapters called Milepost Markers, which address various losses, disappointments, or obstacles. Each entry concludes with a Rest Area for reflection and journaling and a Postcard with a quotation related to the topic that sends readers off with an encouraging word as they travel on towards their Destination Hope.
